weather station network

The use of long-term meteorological data is important for all aspects of ecological research and conservation management. An automated network of four monitoring stations is being installed across the Station. Three stations are operational with the fourth and final station planned to be completed by the end of 2007. Future enhancements to the network will allow the data from each station to be accessible in real-time via the web.The AMS101 station is currently available for access.

Florida Automated Weather NetworkThe Station also hosts a Florida Automated Weather Network (FAWN) weather station, which is included in the Station's monitoring network. It is operated by the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and is part of a network of weather stations across Florida. Data is updated to the web every 15 minutes and is available back to 1/24/2001.
